Job summary

Owens & Minor is seeking a Packaging Engineer II to lead packaging and labeling updates for global medical device launches. You will collaborate with designers, scientists, regulatory specialists, product managers, procurement and manufacturing leaders across countries to define material specs and artwork that comply with regulatory standards.

This role works primarily from home with 5–10% time in Alpharetta, GA, reporting to the Sr Manager, Packaging & Labeling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in packaging science or QA, or progress toward advanced degree.
• Minimum 3 years in package design and artwork development.
• Experience in medical devices or FDA labeling preferred.
• Familiarity with FDA/EU labeling requirements.

Responsibilities

• Gather packaging and labeling requirements from cross-functional leaders and organize clearly.
• Initial packaging change requests with clear supporting documents and due dates.
• Proofing specifications prior to approval and publishing to packaging database.
• Complete change management deliverables in quality management database with good documentation practices.
• Manage packaging project management phases: Initiate, Plan, Execute, Monitor, Closure.
• Drive continuous improvement to packaging update lead times.
• Travel up to 10% to support global sites and suppliers.
