Job summary

R1 RCM Inc. is seeking an Outpatient Coding Quality Reviewer to ensure coding accuracy across CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM and APCs for outpatient records, including Ancillary, Emergency Department, Same Day Surgery, Observation, Wound Care and Professional Services.

You will act as a coding expert, provide audit feedback, educate peers, and partner with Quality, Education, Denials, and Coding Operations to improve revenue integrity.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
• One or more active certification(s): RHIT, RHIA, COC, CCS-P or CCS.
• Minimum seven years hospital outpatient coding experience covering multiple service lines.

Responsibilities

• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance by reviewing outpatient records and code assignments.
• Serve as a trusted coding subject matter expert, providing audit feedback and guidance.
• Analyze audit results to identify opportunities for education and process improvement.
• Partner with Quality, Education, Denials, and Coding Operations to resolve issues and support revenue integrity.
