Job summary

Varsity Tutors is seeking an Orton-Gillingham tutor to deliver 1-on-1 online instruction using a multisensory, structured literacy approach. You will adapt pacing based on student mastery and provide explicit phonics instruction from elementary through adult levels.

You can tutor remotely via our Live Learning Platform, set your own schedule, and invoice for sessions. Earn up to $40/hour with payments issued twice per week.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of the Orton-Gillingham approach including multisensory structured literacy and decoding rules.
• Ability to explain the six syllable types and encoding/decoding strategies to diverse learners.
• Excellent communication and ability to adapt to student needs with an engaging teaching style.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1-on-1 online tutoring using the Orton-Gillingham approach.
• Adapt instruction based on diagnostic-prescriptive assessment and student mastery.
• Provide structured, explicit, multisensory phonics instruction and feedback.
