Job summary

Concentra is seeking a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon to join its Medical Review Stream as a telecommute physician. You will review medical claims, interpret clinical information, and determine the appropriateness of services under Concentra policies and URAAC guidelines, ensuring compliance and timely decisions.

The role offers a flexible Monday–Friday schedule within business hours as a 1099 independent contractor.

Qualifications

• Board certified MD/DO with active medical license.
• Current, unrestricted clinical license; restricted licenses have a management process.
• Board certification by ABMS or ABO Specialty is required for MD/DO reviewer.
• Must be in active medical practice to perform appeals.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medical files and provides recommendations for utilization review and medical necessity.
• Discusses quality of care and credentialing with Medical Director as needed.
• Maintain proper credentialing and state licenses and any required certifications.
• Provide timely case returns with clear rationales and criteria.
• Interact with providers and health professionals professionally.
