Job summary

MCPHS, the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, invites applications for Adjunct Faculty – Optometry, Student Success Navigator. This remote role supports Doctor of Optometry students with academic mentoring, early intervention, and collaboration with faculty to promote progression and professional development.

The successful candidate will monitor performance, conduct remote meetings, document outcomes, and coordinate with university services.

Qualifications

• OD degree with at least one year of clinical experience.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff).
• Proficiency with LMS, assessment platforms, and videoconferencing tools.

Responsibilities

• Conducts prompt analysis and outreach to students to provide individualized academic coaching, mentoring, interventions, and success planning for Optometry students.
• Monitors academic performance and implements early intervention strategies for at-risk learners.
• Conducts meetings with at-risk learners remotely and/or in person as needed.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation of student meetings, progress, and outcomes.
• Collaborates with course directors and faculty to identify and support student learning needs.
• Assists in interventions, remediation plan development, implementation, and follow-up.
