Job summary

Prelim, a San Francisco and New York City‑based startup with fully remote positions across the US, is seeking its first Business Operations hire. You’ll build the operational infrastructure from scratch, defining what to systematize and creating scalable processes that prevent things from slipping through the cracks as the company grows.

In this role you’ll own cross‑team coordination, workload visibility, and staffing, partnering with the founder and leaders to keep execution transparent while

Qualifications

• 3–6 years in a startup that scaled from 15–80 people.
• Experience coordinating across product, design, engineering and operations.
• Strong writing and clear, concise communication.
• Structured thinker who avoids bureaucracy and embraces pragmatism.
• Comfort with ambiguity and fast-changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate cross‑team work and maintain a real-time picture of who’s on what.
• Build workload visibility and risk tracking with weekly leadership views.
• Own the operational cadence: kickoff cycles, meeting actions, and reviews.
• Manage staffing, PTO handoffs, escalations, and handoffs without dropped work.
• Oversee vendor/logistics: office space, contracts, travel, and expenses.
