Job Summary

This position is an operator position based out of our world headquarters in Overland Park, KS. The operator will be operating and monitoring assets for clients as well as documenting and tracking progress of maintenance-related work. This individual will report to the ROC Lead Operator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs real-time operations of distributed asset power generation technologies in Remote Operations Center (ROC).
  • Interfaces with multiple parties for identification, diagnosis and resolution of site operations and maintenance problems, including the site O&M team, site owner, regulatory agencies, and B&V leadership.
  • Engages in multiple aspects of ROC responsibilities including communications with clients as well as internal team members to maintain contractual obligations.
  • Follows and operates to scheduled energy dispatch instructions.
  • Develops processes and procedures for both site-specific projects and the Remote Operations Center.
  • Stands watches in rotational shift-work developed in coordination with the ROC Lead Operator.
  • Assists with Monitoring & Diagnostics (M&D) teams using predictive analytics for proactive monitoring of power generation, renewables, process industries and distributed generation assets.
  • Performs functions requiring intermediate knowledge of distributed energy systems (solar systems) and use of control applications, standards, and document control processes/procedures in support of remote operations. This position should have skills in Microsoft Office applications as well as various HMI and operating platform software.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Required
  • Associate Degree or trades/vocational experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of related work experience
  • Previous operations experience related to Battery Storage, Solar, Wind, Simple Cycle Thermal Generation, or Combined Cycle Thermal Generation
  • Control Room Operator experience preferred
  • Basic industry knowledge and technology trends
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Power Plant systems and processes
  • Basic knowledge of NERC responsibilities
  • Basic knowledge of construction and constructability practices and principles
Work Environment/Physical Demands
