FlyGuys is seeking a Remote Operations Center Pilot (Part 107 Drone Pilot) to support automated drone operations from our Remote Operations Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. Responsibilities

  • Conduct remote drone flights for automated patrol and incident response missions.
  • Operate aircraft through remote command-and-control platforms in compliance with FAA regulations.
  • Monitor and supervise autonomous drone deployments across multiple locations.
  • Execute pre-flight system checks and mission preparation prior to flight operations.
  • Maintain situational awareness of airspace, weather, and environmental conditions.

  • Participate in safety reviews, operational debriefs, and training exercises.

  • Identify and report technical issues related to aircraft, sensors, or software.
  • Troubleshoot minor operational issues and elevate technical problems when required.

Position Overview

FlyGuys is seeking a Remote Operations Center Pilot (Part 107 Drone Pilot) to support automated drone operations from our Remote Operations Center. This role is responsible for remotely operating and monitoring drone deployments used for security monitoring, incident response, and operational awareness across multiple enterprise customer sites.

Remote Operations Center Pilots supervise autonomous Drone-in-a-Box (DIB) systems and conduct remote drone missions, including scheduled patrols, alarm verification, and situational awareness flights. Operators use advanced command-and-control software to launch, monitor, and control aircraft operating beyond visual line of sight under approved operational frameworks.

This role requires strong situational awareness, operational discipline, and the ability to make real-time decisions in dynamic environments. ROC Pilots work closely with operations leadership, client security teams, and technical support teams to ensure safe and effective drone operations.

Key Responsibilities
Remote Drone Operations
  • Conduct remote drone flights for automated patrol and incident response missions.
  • Operate aircraft through remote command-and-control platforms in compliance with FAA regulations.
  • Monitor and supervise autonomous drone deployments across multiple locations.
  • Execute pre-flight system checks and mission preparation prior to flight operations.
  • Maintain situational awareness of airspace, weather, and environmental conditions.
  • Manage multiple drone deployments simultaneously within the operations center.
Mission Monitoring & Oversight
  • Monitor live telemetry, video feeds, and system alerts during missions.
  • Execute scheduled patrol routes and monitoring procedures.
  • Identify anomalies, safety hazards, or security events during flight operations.

Security & Incident Response
  • Respond to automated security alerts or client-initiated requests.

Required Qualifications
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
  • 1+ years of commercial drone operations experience
  • Strong understanding of airspace regulations, weather interpretation, and aviation safety practices
  • Experience with mission planning software or remote drone command platforms
  • Ability to monitor multiple information streams simultaneously
  • Strong situational awareness and decision-making ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work within a structured operations center environment
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including evenings or weekends if required
  • Passes the required background checks by both FlyGuys and/or any additional requirements by the agency
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Drone-in-a-Box systems
  • Experience with BVLOS or remote drone operations
  • Background in law enforcement, military aviation, public safety, or security operations
  • Experience working in command centers or incident monitoring environments
  • Familiarity with Drone as First Responder (DFR) operations
  • Experience with automated drone missions or remote fleet management
  • Experience in monitoring live video feeds or security systems
