Job summary

Labela is seeking certified U.S. Oncology Data Specialists for high-level cancer data abstraction and documentation consulting.

You will serve as an SME to validate, refine, and audit the abstracting logic and staging reasoning of frontier AI models. This is a flexible, remote role designed for practicing registrars and cancer data professionals to influence the accuracy and standards compliance of medical AI at scale.

Qualifications

• ODS-C certification (formerly CTR) required.
• Minimum 2 years of production cancer data abstraction or registry experience.
• Based in the United States with ability to work remotely.
• Excellent ability to justify coding decisions with cited standards or manuals.
• Flexible, project-based hours compatible with a full-time registry schedule.

Responsibilities

• Audit and refine AI-generated cancer abstracts for ICD-O-3.2 coding, SEER/STORE/NAACCR standards.
• Provide high-complexity validation for AJCC TNM staging, SEER Summary Stage, EOD and SSDIs.
• Identify primary/histology rule errors and AI reportability issues affecting data quality.
• Advise on development of AI-driven abstraction and cancer registry support tools.
