Job summary

Lynker is seeking an Education and Outreach Specialist to lead national educator professional development across online, onsite, and hybrid platforms, advancing ocean literacy and NOAA mission objectives. The role includes coordinating a facilitator network, partnering with science institutions, and developing educational resources and outreach materials.

The ideal candidate will have a science education background, experience in program design, and strong communication skills to drive education

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field; or a marine/ocean science background with educator experience.
• Demonstrated ability to develop age-appropriate educational materials aligned with formal standards (NGSS, Ocean Literacy).
• Strong project management, collaboration across agencies, and ability to manage multiple education initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and design leadership for national educator PD across online, onsite, and hybrid platforms.
• Coordinate a network of PD facilitators and train new host partners and facilitators.
• Develop and promote ocean education partnerships with institutions (aquaria, museums, universities, informal science centers).
• Design and deliver education resources, webinars, and workshops; evaluate programs and inform improvements.
• Manage education product development and outreach materials, including branding and graphic design.
• Coordinate web posting, outreach announcements, and partner communications for education initiatives.
