Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY is seeking a Nurse Practitioner specializing in lung cancer screening for a full-time, day shift. You will lead shared decision making visits with patients to support evidence-based LDCT screening.

You will collaborate with primary care, pulmonology, radiology, thoracic surgery, oncology and care management to ensure timely, high-quality, patient-centered care across the screening and diagnostic continuum.

Qualifications

• MSN required or equivalent.
• New York NP license (or willingness to obtain).
• FNP board certification through ANCC or AANP.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive lung cancer screening consultations and assessments.
• Perform CMS-compliant shared decision making visits for eligible patients.
• Evaluate eligibility for LDCT screening based on national guidelines.
• Order and interpret screening-related diagnostic studies within scope of practice.
• Communicate screening results and develop follow-up care plans.
• Coordinate referrals to specialty care for abnormal findings.
• Provide smoking cessation counseling and connect patients with resources.
• Collaborate with primary care practices to improve screening rates and reduce disparities.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and program performance monitoring.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support patient navigation to improve adherence to follow-up.
• Engage in community outreach and education to raise screening awareness.
