Job summary

The Women's Foundation of California is a fully remote organization; incumbents must reside in California. The Accountant will support financial operations under the Director of Finance using QuickBooks Premiere, Expensify, Excel, and Word.

Qualifications

• Accounting knowledge and experience in bookkeeping.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes.
• Experience with month-end close and general ledger reporting.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word for reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable process and enter data to QuickBooks Premiere, with proper documentation and approvals.
• Prepare and process semi-monthly bill payments.
• Collect credit card receipts and code/post to spreadsheets and systems.
• Review expense reports; process via Expensify and post to the system.
• Assist with month-end close and generate GL reports for review; reconcile with Finance input.
• Maintain vendor files, including contracts and W-9s.
• Administer petty cash transactions following Foundation policies.
• Support audit preparation, year-end closing and 990 filings.
• Perform duties or special projects as assigned by Director of Finance or designee.
