Job summary

Gustan Cho Associates is seeking a remote mortgage loan officer to originate and close mortgage loans. The successful candidate will work closely with borrowers, realtors, and lenders while receiving marketing support without the need for cold calling.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting and verifying documentation, reviewing credit reports, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines, and maintaining communication with all parties involved. The role offers the opportunity to work independently and requires a licensed mortgage loan officer.

Qualifications

• Licensed mortgage loan officer with an active NMLS registration.
• Strong communication, organization, and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently and be available to borrowers on a 7-day schedule.
• Experience managing a range of loan products (FHA, VA, USDA, conventional, and non-QM).
• Knowledge of underwriting policies and the ability to navigate changes in lending guidelines.
• Committed to maintaining borrower confidentiality and trust throughout the loan process.

Responsibilities

• Collect and verify borrower documentation including tax returns and bank statements.
• Review borrower credit reports and payment histories.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.
• Maintain accessibility to borrowers seven days a week.
• Communicate with all parties to coordinate deliveries and approvals.
• Prepare and submit accurate pre-approval letters and loan estimates.
• Identify and address potential closing risks.
• Collaborate with marketing staff to promote and secure qualified borrowers.
