Job summary

The National Health Law Program (NHeLP) invites applications for the Summer 2027 Mission Advancement Team Internship. This fully remote internship runs 37.5 hours per week for 10 weeks, supporting the MAT’s efforts in communications, development, and partnerships.

As a MAT intern, you’ll learn health law and policy issues, help with social media, media outreach, grant materials, and related tasks while collaborating with the Washington, DC-based staff to advance health equity.

Qualifications

• Rising Juniors/Seniors pursuing an undergrad degree in Health Policy, Public Policy, Government, Communications, or Business Administration.
• Commitment to expanding health care access for low-income and underserved populations.
• Experience or interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills are essential.
• Interpersonal skills to build relationships across the organization.
• Self-motivation with good organizational skills, detail-oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Ability to listen effectively and respect others’ perspectives.

Responsibilities

• Draft and edit sections of proposals and reports.
• Proofread grant materials for clarity and accuracy.
• Research new foundation prospects and prepare brief funder profiles.
• Pull together background or updates to support proposals.
• Assist with grants management tasks, including organizing files and tracking data.
• Assist with the Individual Giving team and graphics tasks as needed.
