Job summary

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Microsoft Security Engineer to administer and monitor Microsoft security technologies across Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra ID in hybrid environments. This hands-on role supports identity security, threat detection, vulnerability remediation, and incident response under IT leadership.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in cybersecurity and strong experience with Defender suites, Sentinel, and PowerShell.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
• 3+ years in cybersecurity, information security, or security operations.
• Hands-on experience with security controls in Microsoft 365, Entra ID, or Azure.
• Experience investigating alerts in Defender and/or Sentinel.
• Knowledge of CA, MFA, endpoint protection, email security, and identity concepts.

Responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft Entra ID security controls per standards.
• Support Conditional Access and MFA implementations and reviews.
• Investigate authentication, Privileged Identity Management, and access reviews.
• Monitor Defender suite across endpoints, emails, and identities.
• Respond to security alerts and coordinate remediation efforts.
• Assist with incident response during major events and investigations.
