micro1 is seeking a Microbiologist for a fully remote contractor role. You will apply your biology and microbiology expertise to train AI systems using real-world microbial data.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in biology, microbiology, chemistry, or related field, with strong knowledge of bacteria, fungi, and algae, plus excellent written and verbal communication. Prior experience with AI or data annotation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and analyze development, morphology, and behavior of microorganisms including bacteria, fungi, and algae.
• Contribute to study of relationships between microorganisms and disease.
• Assess impact of antibiotics and other agents on microbial populations for AI training insights.
• Document experimental findings for AI training data.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure scientific rigor and data integrity.
• Provide written and verbal expertise on microbiological phenomena relevant to real-world contexts.
• Utilize rubrics and evaluation criteria to assess data quality for AI workflows.
