Job summary

SCI Summit Consulting, LLC invites applications for a remote-in-Illinois claims professional. You will manage claims, conduct investigations, and determine settlements within your authority while maintaining thorough files and clear communication with insureds and partners.

Minimum 6 months of property and casualty claims handling is required, with a Bachelor's degree in a related field. A professional designation is preferred but progress toward one is acceptable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 6 months of property and casualty claims handling experience.
• Professional designation (e.g., AIC) preferred, progress toward designation acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Manage an inventory of claims to evaluate compensability and liability.
• Conduct claim investigations to confirm coverage and determine liability and damages.
• Determine settlements/reserves within authority and attend related proceedings as needed.
• Communicate routine to moderately complex coverage and settlement information to insureds and external partners.
• Authorize payments within authority limits and ensure timely processing.
• Maintain detailed claim files and related correspondence and documents.
