Qualifications

• 3+ years of medical malpractice defense experience.
• Experience handling depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and other complex assignments.
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a large caseload and the day-to-day tasks involved within the cases.
• Strong desire to learn and grow in their legal profession.
• Experience billing for your time.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee a comprehensive caseload of medical malpractice claims from the initial assessment to the final resolution.
• Consult with experts in the field to assess the standard of care and determine whether a breach has occurred.
• Identify, research, and analyze complex legal issues and conflicting legal opinions.
• Regularly communicate with clients, insurance company contacts, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progression.
• Efficiently prioritize a range of assignments and deadlines.
• Take and defend depositions, represent clients in arbitration proceedings, and argue motions.
• Attend in-person and virtual court appearances.
• Collaborate with fellow attorneys, staff, and partners on legal projects to foster professional development.
