Job summary

Innerspace Counseling in New Jersey seeks an experienced, Board-Certified Psychiatrist to serve as Consulting Medical Director of Psychiatry. This role provides medical leadership and psychiatric oversight for PHP, IOP, and outpatient services.

Direct patient care is limited to requested evaluations or necessary follow-ups. The position focuses on clinical leadership, oversight, and consultation, with occasional in-person work and remote collaboration with executive leadership and treatment

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MD/DO) from an accredited medical school.
• Completed psychiatry residency program.
• Board certification in Psychiatry (Active).
• Board certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (Active).
• Active DEA and CDS registrations.
• Experience treating children (8+), adolescents, and adults.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical oversight and clinical leadership for psychiatric services.
• Supervise and collaborate with PMHNPs/APNs per New Jersey regulations.
• Serve as collaborating physician for psychiatric providers as required.
• Participate in regular clinical case consultations and guide complex cases.
• Review and assist with psychiatric policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and performance improvement activities.
• Assist with Joint Commission accreditation, state licensing, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide consultation regarding clinical documentation and medication management.
• Participate in leadership and multidisciplinary team meetings as needed.
• Be available for physician consultation on admissions and level-of-care decisions.
• Provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management as needed.
