Job summary

Optum Insight is modernizing the flow of health data and enabling evidence-based CDS content within EHR applications. The Medical Director Clinical Informatics will translate guidelines into structured logic, collaborate with clinicians and technologists, and lead QA processes while advancing AI-enabled content pipelines.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/MBBS with medical training and licensure
• 5+ years in clinical practice and informatics
• 2+ years in CDS and content authoring
• Experience translating guidelines into structured logic
• Experience collaborating with clinical subject matter experts and product/architects
• Experience with evidence-based medicine frameworks and interoperability standards
• Experience with FHIR and leveraging AI in informatics processes
• Deep understanding of clinical terminology and ontologies
• Ability to translate narrative guidelines into executable content

Responsibilities

• Author, maintain, and QA CDS content
• Translate guidelines from narrative form into structured representations
• Collaborate with peer reviewers to ensure clinical accuracy and evidence
• Collaborate with terminologists to map concepts to standard terminologies
• Work with technical teams to implement structured content
• Act as steward of content policies and curation
• Provide training for content authors and teams
• Contribute to AI-enabled content development strategies
