Qualifications

• 8+ years of clinical practice.
• 5+ years as a physician executive with managed care experience.
• MD or DO with current CA license.
• Board certification in a clinical specialty.
• Willingness to travel within CA.
• Must reside in CA.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight for UIS transition-support services.
• Advise on clinical escalation, member safety, continuity of care, and post-discharge support.
• Provide consultation to nurses, social workers, care coordinators, and other program staff.
• Evaluate inquiries from physicians, providers, and customers.
• Consult with general and specialty practitioners as needed.
• Represent and promote Acentra Health in professional settings.
• Foster external physician and provider relationships.
• Stay current on applicable regulations and legislation.
• Review medical information trends and approaches.
• Provide medical input in developing clinical goals and policies.
• Oversee physician consultants and advisors.
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, and administrative staff on joint matters.
• Support development of clinical protocols, escalation pathways, assessments, and training materials.
• Review complex cases and advise on referrals, interventions, and follow-up.
• Coordinate with DHCS, Gainwell, providers, hospitals, and community partners.
