Qualifications

• Certified medical coder with 3+ years post‑certification experience
• 3+ years post-certification experience in outpatient specialty surgeries and procedures
• Strong CPT/HCPCS coding knowledge
• Experience reading and coding from operative reports
• Chemotherapy and/or therapeutic infusion experience
• Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and discretion with information
• Strong attention to detail; able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficiency with MS Office

Responsibilities

• Verify and ensure accuracy of procedure codes based on services
• Review medical documentation for indicators to meet clinical criteria and APC/outpatient coding guidelines
• Use coding resources and perform CPT/HCPCS reviews
• Conduct peer reviews and provide reports as needed
• Maintain patient and physician confidentiality per HIPAA and regulations
• Keep up-to-date with ICD-10 and CPT guidelines and government rules
• Enter claim/encounter data in systems
• Support process and quality improvement initiatives
