Job summary

Caraway Home is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join the team in China, focusing on design, manufacturing, and sourcing for expanding product offerings. You will direct mechanical design and communicate with factory teams to meet product requirements.

You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers, applying DFx methods, RCCA, SPC, and Six Sigma concepts to ensure quality and efficiency across projects, while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, mechanical design, manufacturing, or a related role.
• Experience in kitchen and home goods required; direct kitchen appliance experience also required.
• Fluent in Chinese and English, with excellent written and spoken communication skills in both.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical design and analysis activities, including 3D modeling, prototyping, component selection and validation, and design for manufacturing/assembly (DFx).
• Collaborate with suppliers to develop engineering components and ensure they meet CAD model constraints.
• Resolve technical issues with internal teams and suppliers; drive manufacturability improvements and cost/quality efficiency.
• Oversee manufacturing processes and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining high quality standards.
• Lead projects from start to finish with clear timelines, budgets, and stakeholder alignment.
• Support supplier sourcing by evaluating vendors from a technical perspective.
