Job summary

The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) is seeking a full-time Market Solutions Engineer to support EMS/BMS software and the electric power system model used by scheduling and dispatch software.

You will develop expertise in NY State high-voltage transmission, PMU applications, and market design initiatives, collaborating with grid operators and IT teams to deliver secure, reliable market functionality.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required.
• MS in Electrical Engineering desired.
• Experience with EMS/SCUC/RTS and power system software is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain PMU applications and EMS-based VSM.
• Maintain EMS and Phasor Data Acquisition/Control systems integration.
• Develop and implement PMU functions with NY Transmission Owners and neighbors.
• Provide Dispatcher support and training for Smart-Grid applications.
• Support testing efforts for Market Design initiatives and Network Model projects.
• Prepare documentation for Market Design initiatives and EMS/BMS platform.
