Job summary

Ampcus Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Engineer for a remote healthcare domain project on a 6-month contract. You will analyze requirements and design robust COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS solutions while aligning with Agile practices.

Expect 5–7 years of mainframe experience, strong debugging, and ability to work in a fast-changing environment with cross-functional collaboration. Remote work and rotating shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with JCL, COBOL.
• 5 years of experience with DB2, SQL.
• 5-7 years of experience with CICS, API.
• 3 years of experience in REXX.
• 2 years experience with BI Tools (Tableau) or Power BI.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum and Kanban principles.
• Knowledge of Airflow and TWSd batch jobs is required.
• Manage code migration through the various stages for the release.
• Flexible working in different shifts and ability to take the on-call responsibility in rotation.

Responsibilities

• Solid understanding of software engineering processes: Design patterns, algorithms, data structures, schemas and queries, system design, unit testing, code reviews, agile and dev-ops.
• Analyze business requirements to develop database solutions for Health Care and Reporting systems.
• Provide support for Service Availability, Stability & application performance.
• Resolve production issues by code debugging, analyze logs, perform reverse engineering to find the root cause and suggest permanent fix within SLA (Service Level Agreement).
• Available for production deployments/troubleshooting during off hours/weekends.
