Job summary

Blue Rose Research is hiring a product-focused Data Scientist to help build LLM-powered research tools and analyses. You will co-evolve the product experience with model development, helping campaigns and advocates understand how to use AI-driven insights effectively.

The role requires 5+ years in data science or applied statistics, strong Python/SQL skills, and hands-on work with LLMs and embeddings. You’ll work remotely with an NYC office, collaborating across technical and client-facing teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years as data scientist or applied statistician.
• Experience shipping features or products, not just analyses.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, and standard ML tooling.
• Hands-on experience evaluating or building on top of LLMs: eval sets, LLM-as-judge, embeddings.
• Good product instincts and ability to communicate with engineers and PMs.

Responsibilities

• Spend time with political strategists to understand how they think and how AI can help.
• Translate work into product decisions and workflows.
• Set rigor for what is good in an AI system while meeting deadlines.
• Design evaluations and LLM-as-judge systems.
• Prototype quickly using coding agents to test ideas.
• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences, including clients.
• Interpret how end users will interact with the model in the product.
