Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to manage civil matters from evaluation to trial. You will develop strategy, draft complex documents, and handle depositions as well as negotiations for clients in sophisticated cases.

The role requires active NY and NJ bar admission, 3+ years of experience, and the ability to commute into the NYC area when needed. A primarily remote schedule with occasional court appearances offers autonomy and significant responsibility.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of attorney experience.
• Active New York and New Jersey bar admission required.
• Ability to independently manage litigation files and deadlines.
• Strong legal research, writing, oral advocacy, and communication skills.
• Defense litigation, insurance defense, casualty defense, tort defense, or general liability experience preferred.
• Deposition, mediation, negotiation, and motion practice experience preferred.
• Ability to commute into the NYC metropolitan area as needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage civil litigation matters from initial evaluation through resolution or trial.

• Handle defense matters involving general liability, personal injury, catastrophic injury, transportation, premises liability, product liability, and related disputes.
• Prepare cases thoroughly for trial while identifying opportunities for efficient and favorable resolution.
• Travel into the NYC metropolitan area as necessary for litigation activities.

Location:

Remote opportunity for an attorney based within reasonable commuting distance of the New York City metropolitan area. Candidates must be able to travel into the NYC area as needed for court appearances, depositions, meetings, mediations, and other litigation-related responsibilities.

Note:

Candidates must have 3+ years of attorney experience and active bar admission in both New York and New Jersey. We are seeking a strong litigator who can independently handle cases and is able to commute into the New York City area when matters require an in-person presence.
