Job summary

The Unconventional is seeking qualified linguists to provide interpretation, translation, and other linguistic support services. This is an open, evergreen requisition for multiple language support roles at various locations. Candidates must be fluent in English and the foreign language, possess proficiency depending on the category (CAT I, II, III), and be able to work effectively under high pressure. Some travel may be required. The position is full-time and may involve working in diverse environments.

Qualifications

• Working proficiency (ILR level 2+) in English for CAT I.
• Understanding of all speech in standard dialect for CAT III linguists.
• Ability to live and work in harsh environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpretation services in virtual and in-person settings.
• Translate written, electronic, audio, and video materials.
• Review and edit documents.

Skills

Fluent in English and foreign language including regionalisms

Ability to conduct consecutive translation and interpretation

Experience providing foreign language instruction

Ability to function effectively under high pressure
