Job summary

Harbor is seeking Legal Research Librarians on a contract basis to join our Research & Information Services team. This fully remote role supports client engagements on a project-by-project basis nationwide. 1099 contract, with hours and workload varying by project and client.

Locations noted include Chicago, New York, Washington DC, and remote options. Requirements include 5+ years in a law-firm library, a bachelor’s degree, and preferred MLS/MLIS or JD.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a law firm library reference/research role.
• Bachelor’s degree is required; MLS/MLIS or JD preferred.
• Proficiency with Westlaw, LexisNexis, Bloomberg Law and related databases.
• Strong ability to analyze, summarize and communicate research findings.
• Self-motivated, able to work remotely and collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality in-depth legal, corporate and other research for clients.
• Monitor and respond to research requests and coordinate with team across locations.
• Prioritize, analyze, and synthesize results; communicate findings clearly.
• Learn and apply client library policies and procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service.
