Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to manage a fast-moving team focused on high voltage transmission line design for overhead and underground systems from 34.5 kV to 765 kV. Remote work options are available.

This senior role combines engineering leadership with technical project management, applying standards (NESC, ASCE, NEC) while directing PLS-CADD modeling, structure loading, and procurement tasks. Strong communication and staff development are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years HV transmission experience.
• Expertise in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• EIT certification is required.
• Ability to work in a team and independently, with strong client communication.
• Travel to client sites may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Direct multiple design teams and oversee project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Mentor staff, manage performance reviews, and foster growth.
• Develop proposals and define scope of work for new projects.
• Lead client relations and ensure high quality deliverables.
• Apply standards and manage design execution using automation where possible.
