Job summary

Association of American Medical Colleges is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to guide research and analytics across residency selection, applicant behavior, and tool evaluation. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive impact and develop scalable analytic assets.

The role requires strong expertise in R, Python, SQL, and reproducible workflows, with a focus on methodological rigor, data governance, and mentorship of junior staff.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree(s) required or preferred in psychology, education, data science, or related field.
• 8–10 years of related work experience with 1–3 years of supervisory experience.
• Hands-on research in selection, admissions, educational measurement or related field with published work.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead residency selection research portfolios, including applicant behavior and tool evaluation.
• Ensure methodological rigor, psychometrics, and clear paths from concept to implementation.
• Oversee data architecture, extraction, integration, and reproducible analytics workflows.
