Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Lead Cloud Solutions Architect to drive client engagements, define solution strategies, and oversee end-to-end cloud programs. The role partners with stakeholders to turn business needs into scalable, secure technology solutions across cloud and on-prem environments.

You will guide architecture decisions, develop roadmaps, and lead delivery teams through design, deployment, and operational transition while ensuring value, risk management, and ongoing optimization.

Qualifications

• Experience in solution architecture, consulting, or customer-facing technology roles.
• Proven track record leading complex cross-functional technology initiatives from discovery through implementation.
• Advanced understanding of Microsoft Azure services, cloud solution architecture, identity, networking, and security concepts.
• Working knowledge of AWS services and cloud architecture principles.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts, DNS, routing, firewalls, and hybrid networking.
• Experience designing solutions with relational and non-relational databases, data integrations, and application data architectures.
• Strong experience with Linux-based operating systems and enterprise workloads.
• Experience designing and integrating enterprise applications, SaaS platforms, APIs, and business systems.
• Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Leadership and mentoring experience to guide cross-functional teams.
• Business acumen to evaluate costs, licensing, security, and long-term supportability.

Responsibilities

• Lead client engagement activities, including solution discovery, requirements gathering, stakeholder workshops, and business case development.
• Translate business needs into practical, scalable, and supportable technology solutions that align with organizational goals.
• Experience leading complex solution engagements from concept through implementation and operational transition.
• Develop solution strategies, roadmaps, and delivery plans for cloud, application, and technology initiatives.
• Collaborate with business leaders, project teams, vendors, and technical resources to ensure successful delivery of technology solutions.
• Provide technical leadership to Solution Architects and delivery teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Evaluate options and recommend cost-efficient, secure, and scalable solutions with long-term supportability.
