Job summary

nortal is seeking a data engineer for a remote-first role focused on building enterprise-grade data pipelines and supporting PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Databricks workloads. You will join a distributed LATAM team that values autonomy, open communication, and continuous learning.

The role combines hands-on coding, architecture, and production support with modern cloud practices, CI/CD, and DevSecOps across cloud and on‑prem environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of software development building commercial applications.
• Experience administering RDS Postgres and Aurora; MS SQL Server knowledge.
• Hands-on Databricks with Unity Catalog and notebooks.
• Distributed Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps delivery experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, integrate, and maintain scalable data pipelines.
• Administer and support PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases in cloud/on‑prem.
• Architect and deliver high-quality code following modern engineering practices.
• Diagnose production issues and raise risks early with leads.
• Build enterprise apps at scale with high availability and performance.
• Validate ideas via PoCs, tests, and external research; contribute to initiatives.
