Job summary

ASM Research is seeking a Knowledge Management Specialist to research and compile technical data for manuals, articles, and procedures. You will ensure accuracy, apply DoDAF/IEEE and AMA/APA/CSE styles, and work with SMEs in a fully remote, distributed team.

Required are an associate degree, 1–2 years of technical writing experience, and proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat. Candidates must be US citizens and able to undergo a federal background check.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing or related field or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years of experience in technical writing or knowledge management.
• Excellent grammar, style, and editing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
• Experience with desktop publishing tools from Adobe and Microsoft.
• Ability to translate requirements into clear documentation.
• Ability to work in a fully remote, distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Works with internal teams and SMEs to understand content and documentation requirements.
• Analyzes existing content for reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
• Studies drawings, announcements, specifications, mockups, and product samples with designers.
• Uses graphics to increase end users' understanding of the system.
• Translates development requirements into documentation changes per DoDAF/AIMM.
• Proofs documentation for spelling, grammar, and style.
• Ensures documentation meets end-user needs and adheres to standards.
