Job summary

INFOZEN INC in Atlanta, GA seeks a Kafka Administrator with hands-on Confluent Kafka expertise to manage enterprise data streaming infrastructure and real-time pipelines.

You will install and maintain Confluent Kafka clusters, monitor performance, secure access with SSL/TLS, SASL, and RBAC, and collaborate with DevOps and development teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Kafka Administrator with deep knowledge of Confluent Kafka platform.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, messaging architectures, and event-driven design.
• Experience with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, and Kafka Streams.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix administration and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Confluent Control Center.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerized environments (Kubernetes/Docker) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Confluent Kafka clusters in production and non-production environments.
• Monitor Kafka broker performance, consumer lag, and throughput to ensure system reliability and availability.
• Manage Kafka topics, partitions, replication factors, and retention policies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Kafka-related issues including connectivity, data loss, and latency problems.
• Implement security configurations including SSL/TLS, SASL, and role-based access control (RBAC).
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support Kafka-based streaming applications and integrations.
• Perform capacity planning, upgrades, and patching of Confluent Kafka components including Schema Registry, Kafka Connect, and ksqlDB.
