Job summary

STI Federal is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to join our expanding team. You will assist analysts in data collection, cleaning, and preparation, and help develop models under supervision.

You’ll create basic visualizations and assist in preparing reports for senior leadership, ensuring alignment with DOE guidance and program objectives. Ideal candidates have a BA/BS and up to 3 years of data analysis experience, plus comfort with Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required.
• Up to 3 years of relevant data analysis or modeling experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain federal clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior and journeyman analysts in statistical analysis, data collection, and data organization.
• Help determine datasets available and relevant for specific tasks.
• Collect, categorize, clean, and prepare data for analysis, modeling, and reporting.
• Support development, testing, and refinement of algorithms and models under supervision.
• Create basic data visualizations to communicate trends and findings.
• Assist with QA checks to ensure accuracy and clean outputs.
• Prepare summaries, slide decks, reports, and dashboards for senior review.
• Ensure analytical work aligns with DOE/CMEI guidance and supports federal objectives.
