Job summary

Propio Language Services, Honolulu-based, is seeking remote contract Japanese interpreters to support clients across healthcare, legal, and social services sectors. You will provide high-quality consecutive interpretation and adhere to client protocols while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of interpreting experience, ILR level 3+ in English, and complete Propio's Medical Terminology assessment. A background check and HIPAA compliance are required.

Qualifications

• Submission of updated Resume in English at time of Application.
• Completion of English Language Proficiency with a language rating of “technical proficiency” (ILR 3+).
• Successful completion of a Mockoral interpretation session.
• Completion of Propio's online Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology Assessment, with a passing score.
• A full Background Check and Security Screen.
• Confidentiality, ethics, and HIPAA compliance commitments.

Responsibilities

• Provides consecutive, first-person interpretation.
• Follows interpreter protocols and procedures as required by Propio L.S. clients.
• Follows all Propio L.S. policies and procedures related to information confidentiality and interpreter ethics.
• Continuously improves vocabulary and specialized subject matter knowledge for medical, legal, social services, etc.
