Job summary

The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, iOS to join the App Growth team on a 3-month full-time contract. This remote-first role requires at least four hours daily between 14:00 and 21:00 UTC as part of a global engineering group.

You will design and build scalable iOS components, lead medium-sized projects, collaborate with product, design and analytics, and help ships features from discovery through delivery while maintaining quality and accessibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
• Strong experience building iOS apps using Swift/SwiftUI.
• Familiarity with UIKit and iOS architectural patterns.
• Proficiency in performance optimization and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of medium complexity initiatives from discovery through delivery; break down into features and manage scope.
• Implement and improve iOS experiences serving a global audience; design scalable components.
• Build testable, observable software and enable deeper product analysis.
• Collaborate with product, design, analysts, and native engineers to balance user needs and technical constraints.
• Identify high-impact opportunities and align team priorities and timelines.
• Follow team standards for code review, design, testing, documentation, and accessibility.
