Turing is building an evaluation benchmark for frontier AI browsing agents. You will design research problems that are extremely hard to answer even with full web access, and prove your work with a complete, auditable evidence trail.

The role emphasizes meticulous sourcing and provenance, involving primary records, government databases, and PDFs. This is remote, with compensation in USD and a flexible, evidence-driven workflow.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or >3 years of relevant experience
• Strong open-web research ability locating primary records
• Precise sourcing citing exact pages, tables, and sections
• Comfort researching unfamiliar subjects from scratch
• Native or near-native written English
• Tolerant of structured documentation and auditable trails
• Experience with LLM evaluation, red-teaming, or benchmark construction
• Experience in one or more of these domains: reference librarianship, investigative journalism, OSINT, patent/legal discovery, genealogy, competitive quizzing

Responsibilities

• Design research problems that are hard to locate with full web access
• Construct clues spanning dates, people, places, organisations, works, events, records, quantities
• Provide a complete, auditable evidence trail with validation of searches and results
