Job summary

Chartwell Law is seeking an Associate attorney to manage a diverse caseload from inception through resolution, providing strategic legal counsel and representation in court, arbitrations, and depositions.

The ideal candidate will have strong research, drafting, and litigation skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while meeting a 1,950-hour annual billable requirement.

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school is required.
• Active license to practice law in the relevant state is required; other bar admissions are a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a practice group.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• File review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action.
• Extensive legal research and drafting of briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
• Representing clients in court, at arbitrations and in depositions.
• Drafting and responding to discovery requests.
• Expert witness retention and collaboration.
• Trial preparation and attendance.
• Collaborate with partners, clients, and stakeholders to deliver strategic legal advice.
• Manage deadlines and assignments with ownership and independence.
