Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University’s School of Nursing is seeking an Instructional Design Manager to lead its instructional design team, partnering with faculty and subject matter experts to design, develop, and continuously improve online courses and learning experiences across the school.

Reporting to the Director of Instructional Design, this role drives strategy and quality in online instruction while leveraging emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, education, or related field.
• Five years of related experience including supervisory responsibilities.
• Experience designing fully online and hybrid courses.
• Experience integrating technology into online instruction.
• Additional education may substitute for experience as per university policy.

Responsibilities

• Hire and supervise instructional designers, instructional technologists and part-time team members.
• Provide leadership to produce pedagogically sound web-based courses and manage project plans.
• Collaborate with faculty to design, develop, and improve online courses and learning experiences.
• Lead quality assurance and design procedures to ensure consistency and accessibility.
• Develop templates and workflows for efficient course development.
