Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Incident Response Specialist to join our security operations team. This remote role supports critical operations and focuses on detecting, analyzing, and responding to security incidents to minimize impact.

You will lead forensic investigations, develop response playbooks, and coordinate with IT, Legal, and Communications to remediate breaches while staying current on threat landscapes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, forensic computing or related field.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in cybersecurity incident response or digital forensics.
• Proficiency with incident response tools and methodologies.
• Experience with forensic analysis tools and techniques (EnCase, FTK, Volatility).

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and systems for signs of malicious activity and security incidents.
• Investigate security incidents, including data breaches, malware infections, and unauthorized access.
• Perform digital forensic analysis on affected systems to determine scope and impact.
• Develop and execute incident response plans and playbooks.
• Contain, eradicate, and recover from security incidents effectively.
• Document all incident response activities, findings, and lessons learned.
• Collaborate with internal teams (IT, Legal, Communications) during incident response efforts.
• Stay up-to-date with latest incident response techniques, tools, and threat landscapes.
• Provide recommendations for improving security posture based on incident analysis.
