The TemPositions Group of Companies is assisting a nonprofit client by recruiting experienced Immigration Defense Attorneys for a remote, evenings/nights and weekends project supporting unaccompanied children arriving in the United States. The role emphasizes Spanish-language communication and public interest work with a direct impact on safety and family reunification.

We seek licensed U.S. attorneys with 3+ years of defense experience and immigration law familiarity.

Qualifikationen

• Active U.S. bar license required.
• Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
• 3+ years of defense experience required.
• Immigration law experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with children or vulnerable populations valued.
• Strong interviewing, research, writing and case-management skills.
• Ability to work remotely with strong self-organization.
• Commitment to immigrant children and families.

Aufgaben

• Conduct phone interviews to gather information relevant to immigration circumstances and potential defenses.
• Interview children in a sensitive, compassionate, and age-appropriate manner.
• Gather information regarding family relationships, living circumstances, immigration history, and other facts.
• Identify information that may support immigration relief, prevent removal, or facilitate reunification.
• Document interviews and case information accurately and thoroughly.
• Communicate effectively with children who may have experienced trauma or difficult circumstances.
• Collaborate with attorneys, case managers, and other professionals involved in supporting unaccompanied children.
• Follow interview protocols, procedures and case-management processes.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Manage a full-time workload with accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
