Job summary

Siemens Energy seeks a High Voltage Circuit Breaker Field Engineer to travel and commission, troubleshoot, repair, and modify HV breakers in substations across the country. 100% remote from home with company equipment provided.

Work outdoors using hand tools and test equipment, with extensive travel by car and air travel. The role requires an Associate degree in a related technical discipline and at least 2 years of HV breaker/substation experience, strong documentation skills, and adherence to

Qualifications

Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience with high voltage circuit breakers or electrical substation environments.
Demonstrated ability to commission, troubleshoot, repair, and modify HV circuit breakers 72.5 kV to 550 kV.

Responsibilities

Perform commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of high voltage circuit breakers.
Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues using hand tools, voltage multimeters, and specialized test equipment.
Execute field work independently while managing job scope, documentation, and reporting.
Communicate effectively with customers, field teams, and engineering support to provide technical updates and align on scope and safety.
Collaborate with internal teams and site personnel to support commissioning activities, outage schedules, and project execution.
Maintain safety procedures and quality standards while working outdoors in substation environments.
