Job summary

Valliant Consulting Group seeks an Operations Manager with a HR background to support our Tribal client onsite in the Santa Fe area. You will partner with the Governor, Tribal Administrator, department directors, and staff to deliver HR and operational services.

This overtime‑eligible role pays $30–$35 per hour with an estimated workload of 30-40 hours per week. While you will initially start as a Valliant employee, there is an opportunity to become a full-time member of our client's team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field
• Five years of progressive experience in HR, operations, or related field
• Tribal or government experience preferred
• SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP/PHR/SPHR or similar certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee Tribe's daily administrative and operational functions with focus on HR and organizational development
• Administer HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, compensation, performance management, employee relations, benefits and workforce planning
• Support Tribal Administrator to implement strategic initiatives and operational improvements
• Develop and evaluate policies to improve efficiency and service delivery
• Coordinate cross-department projects to achieve organizational goals
• Ensure compliance with Tribal, federal, and state employment laws and policies
• Advise managers on performance, investigations, and workplace issues
• Maintain job descriptions, compensation structures, and workforce planning initiatives
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Foster positive interdepartmental relationships and community engagement
