Job summary

Magellan Health seeks a Compliance Manager to lead HIPAA compliance for assigned areas with a fully remote role in California. The role oversees regulatory activities, audits, and the development of written compliance programs, educating staff on program details.

You will coordinate with Internal Audit, SIU, and various stakeholders to ensure corrective actions and regulatory readiness across the Care Center and corporate programs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HIPAA and regulatory processes.
• 5–8 years compliance experience.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
• Ability to coordinate feedback and directions from diverse groups into written policies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct federal and state regulatory and compliance activities.
• Customize policies to meet state standards/contractual requirements.
• Serve as liaison for customers on legal and regulatory issues.
• Chairs the local compliance committee meetings, if applicable.
• Coordinate activities with Internal Audit and SIU on audits.
• Ensure corrective actions for known compliance deficiencies.
• Submit reports to the QIC and Compliance Department as appropriate.
• Maintain expertise on ERISA, NCQA, URAC regulatory requirements.
• Review standard correspondence and coordinate IT policy updates.
• Attend customer meetings to report on compliance matters.
• Serve as central contact for internal/external customers on HIPAA/security.
