Southwire Company, LLC is seeking an HV Technician to join a remote team focused on high‑voltage cable systems. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and the ability to learn electrical and mechanical theory to install, repair, and commission HV cables.

You will work with a team to meet project budgets and schedules. The position requires rising to certification with an accessory manufacturer within a year, learning jacket integrity tests, reading diagrams, bonding systems, and handling HV

Qualifications

• Safety-minded and committed to COZ safety culture.
• Ability to learn electrical and mechanical theory and apply it practically.
• Ability to work as part of a team to meet budgets and schedules.
• Must attain certification of at least one accessory manufacturer within one year.
• Learn to perform jacket integrity tests and related procedures.
• Ability to read single-line/bonding diagrams.
• Learn to install bonding systems with special equipment.
• Assist in receiving, inspection, packaging and shipping of HV accessories.
• Maintain and improve trade skills through training/workshops.
• Maintain installation equipment, tools and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety and environmental rules.
• Learn HV cable installation in conduits or open trenches with proper quality controls.
• Learn HV cable prep methods and securing cables at manholes and terminations.
• Attain certification from at least one accessory manufacturer within one year.
• Perform pre, post, and commissioning jacket integrity tests under supervision.
• Interpret single-line/bonding diagrams.
• Install bonding systems under supervision.
• Assist in receipt, inspection, packing and shipping of HV accessories.
• Participate in training to maintain skills.
• Maintain installation equipment, tools and facilities.
