Job summary

Alabama Connections Academy is seeking a High School Principal to lead our online public school program from Athens, AL or remotely. You will supervise teachers, engage with parents and students, and ensure instructional program success.

The role requires strong administrative leadership, communication, and the ability to manage a distributed team while advancing academic outcomes across grades 9-12.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Master of Education degree is preferred.
• Administrative or management experience within a school environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Experience in managing people.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Customer focused approach.
• High degree of flexibility, excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Technologically proficient (especially with use of the Internet and Microsoft Office products).
• Must be able to use personal electronic device and an email address for two-step authentication.

Responsibilities

• Manage teachers as they consult with parents and students to ensure completion of the instructional program.
• Overlap with parents, students, support staff and teachers who virtually facilitate the home-based program.
• Implement and monitor the school improvement plan and annual goals.
• Deliver school outcomes based on annual goals including student achievement.
• Assist staff with implementing program changes and new software introductions.
• Exhibit high-quality communication with all staff, students and families.
• Participate in parent outreach activities through informational meetings and virtual sessions.
• Support testing processes and ensure high student participation rates.
• Serve as hiring manager for elementary school instructional positions.
