Handl Health is seeking an actuary to support data analytics and tool building for healthcare transparency-based analytics and network tools. You will translate complex healthcare data into actionable insights for employers, brokers, and health plans and help design algorithms powering network cost comparisons and plan design evaluation.

The role blends actuarial science with data science and product development, working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to operationalize

Qualifications

• ASA or FSA credential preferred; candidates close to completing ASA considered.
• 4–7 years of healthcare actuarial experience with hands-on claims data analysis.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python or R; ability to write queries or code.
• Strong understanding of healthcare claims data and provider networks.
• Startup mindset; ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Responsabilités

• Validate and analyze healthcare transparency data and large medical claims datasets.
• Evaluate provider cost and quality metrics for network design and cost tools.
• Refine carrier network cost comparison tools and capabilities.
• Model impact of health plan design and calculate Plan Actuarial Values (AV).
• Collaborate with actuarial, product, and engineering teams to translate principles into software tools.
