Job summary

Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) seeks a Data Science and Informatics Specialist 2 to build data programs supporting the 340B Drug Pricing Program. You will design data submission guides, perform validation, and communicate with internal and external data submitters.

This role emphasizes health care data analytics and actionable insights. The position is eligible for telework and primarily based in Olympia, WA, with on-site equipment pickup on start/end days.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in informatics, data science, mathematics, computer science, statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in informatics, data science, mathematics, computer science, statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or related field, and two years of professional data science or informatics experience in health care/public health.
  • Associate degree in informatics, data science, mathematics, computer science, statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, or related field, and four years of professional data science or informatics experience in health care/public health.
  • Six years of professional data science or informatics experience in health care/public health with complex analytics and programming.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop health care reporting and visualizations for the 340B program.
  • Generate data products from structured and unstructured sources using R, SAS, SQL, M code, or Python.
  • Develop algorithms, data models, and automate data processing tasks.
  • Combine multiple data formats and sources to meet analytic project requirements.
  • Develop data science models, evaluation, and statistical analyses for 340B.
  • Apply quantitative methods to analyze health care data.
  • Perform regression, clustering, or time series analyses as needed.
  • Collaborate with data requestors to translate requests into analytic projects.
  • Validate data quality and address gaps in data sources.
  • Present findings to colleagues, policymakers, and the public.
